Coronavirus In-office Policies
The safety for our families and staff is our top priority. Based on guidance from the CDC, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the American Physical Therapy Association, EIA has new guidelines for infection control. These include:
Please read our regulations carefully
Wellness survey – a wellness survey will be emailed to you the day before your appointment. You are asked to respond to the survey questions prior to arriving for your appointment. If you answer “yes” to any questions regarding exposure to COVID-19, your appointment will be rescheduled or switched to telehealth. Please consider these questions the morning of your appointment, if you or your child’s status has changed overnight. Inform us if you or your child have other symptoms even when COVID negative.
Telehealth – telehealth appointments are still available for any who wish and are encouraged if you or your child present with any risk factors for adverse effects of COVID-19. Please refer to the CDC website for these risk factors.
Client Arrival – You are welcome to wait in your car or to come in at your appointment time. We encourage families not to linger at the office before or after the appointments.
Parent attendance – We continue to prefer that only 1 parent/guardian be in attendance if you are entering the session. Check with your therapist if you want two parents/caretakers or a sibling to be present.
Masks – Children 2 years old and younger are not required to wear a face mask per AAP guidelines. Infants are encouraged to be covered in the carrier to prevent risk of exposure when entering and exiting the session. Children 3 years and older are highly encouraged to wear masks when possible. We understand if wearing a mask is a challenge for your child, please contact your therapist if this applies to your child.
Hand washing/hand sanitizer – All parents/guardians and children will be asked to wash their hands using soap and water as they enter the session. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the clinic and can be used as needed.
No Exceptions
- Wearing of masks continues for all staff
- Sterilization of all equipment and toys following manufacturer recommendations for sterilization
- We are thorough with cleaning after each treatment
